Wild plants for landscape and biodiversity: The Flora locale events programme for 2010
Flora locale has organised another wide range of events that will help practitioners understand some of the methods used to manage, restore and enhance habitats for wild plants and wild-plant communities, as well as other wildlife.
This year there are events in Wales, England and Scotland. Several events look at conservation grazing and are being organised with the Grazing Advice Partnership.
This year we have two new partnerships : we are working with Caring for God's Acre on Managing churchyards and burial grounds for conservation; we are also working with the Small Woods Association on Woodland flora in new and established woods.
We are again putting on a range of events in Wales, as part of our Wild Meadows of Wales Initiative. These events will be looking at managing and restoring species-rich grassland. There are also several events that will introduce participants to identifying wild plants and another looking at insects of wild meadows. For 2010 there are two new events Monitoring biodiversity and Managing urban spaces for wildflowers. These exciting new events expand the range of courses offered in Wales.
