British and Irish Flora Suppliers List: Disclaimer & information

The British and Irish Flora Suppliers List is provided as a free service to those planning to buy and establish British or Irish flora. Some of the companies listed also provide an advisory service to help with the selection of suitable species or the planting, preparation and management of specific sites. British and Irish Flora is defined as native species or archaeophtyes (long-established species) to the British Isles and/or Ireland.

Some of the listed companies also grow and/or supply exotic or cultivated varieties of native species as well as non-native species. Plant buyers are advised to ensure that they correctly specify their requirements and check suppliers' claims carefully as some may have a 'substitution' clause that gives them the option to supply an alternative if the original specification cannot be fulfilled. Further guidance is available in the Flora locale Advisory Note Buying native flora.

Mention on the Suppliers List does not constitute an endorsement by Flora locale of any company, supplier or organisation, their services or products and any associated claims made by them. Neither is it necessarily a full or complete list of suppliers who sell British or Irish flora. Inclusion of companies and suppliers on this list is at the discretion of Flora locale.

Suppliers with a flower symbol against their name have adopted the Flora locale and Plantlife Code of Practice for collectors, growers and suppliers of native flora.

Flora locale, its directors and agents, accept no liability whatsoever for the omission of a grower or supplier from this list, any claims or consequences arising from the publication of this list, or resulting from any trade undertaken or advice provided by companies or individuals included in or omitted from this list. No grower or supplier of native plants is currently entitled to use the name Flora locale in any promotional material, media or correspondence that directly or indirectly promotes their products and/or services except in relation to a statement to the effect that the operation has adopted the Flora locale Code of Practice for collectors, growers and suppliers of native plants and seed (and this must be accompanied by a signed statement in accordance with the conditions of the Code).
