Project description

The Vision Project aimed to conserve, enhance, extend and link existing sites of high ecological value in a small area of the White Peak. It also aims to involve local communities in all elements of the Project. As part of the project a seed harvester was bought in 2003 and this is used to harvest both heather and meadow seed.

The project has also involved a local community group in the management of a daleside ash woodland. In order to increase the shrub species to enhance the woodland structure, local people including school children have harvested shrub seed from the woodland who grew on the seedlings for planting into new clearings created by felling sycamore.
