Nearest town or settlement: Llangefni
Contact detailsWebsite: Dingle nature reserve on the Anglesey Council website
The Dingle LNR has been extended to create a woodland using local seed stock trees to restock the site and encourage natural regeneration. Education and training opportunities and a supply of local seed stock plants are developing the community value of the Reserve.
Children from six primary schools are involved in practical activities e.g. seed collection, bird surveys and tree planting. Volunteers from BTCV and members of the New Deal Team, probation service, Llangefni Scouts and Isle of Anglesey County Council took part in the hand pulling of Himalayan Balsam and removing Sycamore saplings. Employees from Barclays Bank joined forces with Keep Wales Tidy and the county council to help clean up the River Cefni which flows through the woodland.
